Positioning an interesting piece of furniture in your living spaces helps increase the amount of time admiring inspiring shapes and materials. This is why the Big Sur Credenza showcases a unique capacity of becoming the focal point in a light-colored space, for example. I can imagine it surrounded by light walls and vividly colored details, in a bright, naturally lit space. Resting on a hollow wood volume that continues in a straight line up to the top, the body of this modern credenza features two attention-drawing details: a ripple in wood on one side and a large scarred latch on the other. The weaving side is hand carved to hint towards what lies beyond the wood: four drawers with brightly colored bottoms. Part of the Organics Collection and inspired by Central California's Big Sur area, this new piece of sculptural furniture was designed by California-based skilled woodworker and designer Jory Brigham. Maybe you remember The Parker c onsole, a beautiful piece of decorative furniture from the designer’s portfolio shown here on Freshome some time ago. Which one do you like best?
