Contemporary Bayside Living In Recently Upgraded Modern Home
Every dream home begins with a dream. This inspiring modern residence located in Tiburon, California, has finally reached its potential after the owners commissioned California-based studio Swatt Miers Architects to transform their existing home into a spectacular contemporary residence. Named the Garay House, this 5,200 square foot residential structure was first extended back in 2005 and was recently upgraded to suit a modern lifestyle. The half-acre property perched above San Francisco Bay overlooks the serene surrounding landscape to the south, east and west. With inviting open spaces shaping a single-story collection of rooms, the dreamy property is naturally lit through clerestory windows and skylights, alongside frame less glazing. Altered to guide the views across the bay and obstruct views from the north, the Californian home showcases cantilevered roof elements extending the house towards the water and seamlessly connecting i ndoor spaces to outdoors. Interiors were designed around a central circulation spine, cleverly opening social and private spaces towards the views. This inspiring duo of indoor/outdoor spaces create the perfect background for bayside living.
